2023 Port Infrastructure Development Grants Announced
Today the Maritime Administration (MARAD) announced recipients of 2023 Port Infrastructure Development Program (PIDP) grants. PIDP is the United States’ primary federal assistance program for port infrastructure. Recipients are port authorities, or other local public agencies, or private entities in partnership with a public agency. For 2023, MARAD is distributing slightly more than $653 million via this competitive grant process.
Great Lakes ports received $14,384,001 million today, or 2.1% of the total. The Great Lakes projects are:
$9,276,352 – Port of Milwaukee Agricultural Maritime Export Facility/Phase 2
$5,107,649 – Port of Ogdensburg Terminal Expansion Project
Since the PIDP program was launched in 2019, Great Lakes ports have received a total of $168.91 million.
