2017 Summer Meeting
The American Great Lakes Ports Association held its 2017 Summer Meeting on July 11th & 12th in Duluth, Minnesota. The meeting featured guest speakers on a number of key issues related to the efficient movement of waterborne commerce. These included presentations from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on passenger and cargo clearance procedures; from the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (SLSMC) and the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (SLSDC) on water flows in the St. Lawrence River; from the American Association of Port Authorities on harbor maintenance funding; and from the Duluth-Superior Metropolitan Interstate Council on harbor planning. The association’s next meeting will be held in Cleveland, Ohio in February, 2018.
